Mission-Critical Fintech Rescue

The Challenge: A major fintech firm and digital bank—now valued at over $1B—faced a critical failure when a previous vendor was unable to deliver a mobile wallet project after nine months of development. The project was at a standstill, risking significant capital and market positioning. The system was intended to be the core platform for a joint venture with a major global credit card company, leaving no room for further delays or quality issues.

O&B’s Role: O&B was invited to rescue the failing project. We deployed a small, elite interdisciplinary team that implemented Test-Driven Development (TDD) and other Agile practices from day one. Rather than just patching the existing code, O&B re-architected the core platform to ensure it met the high-compliance and performance standards required for digital banking.

The Success Outcome O&B delivered the functional project in just six weeks, successfully launching a platform that had previously stalled for nine months. This rescue led to a total transformation of the entity from a simple e-wallet into a full digital banking platform backed by global investors like KKR and Tencent. Today, the client continues to send its newly hired engineers to O&B for a 12-week “cadetship” to ensure they maintain the engineering maturity O&B established.

Healthcare Administration & Infrastructure

The Challenge: A specialized healthcare administration platform was designed to connect employers, employees, and insurance providers within a single digital ecosystem. However, to achieve a successful and rapid market launch, the client needed to ensure their existing architecture could handle the high-security and high-scalability demands of the medical industry. They required an elite engineering partner to audit their “digital plumbing” and establish a roadmap for rapid feature delivery.

O&B’s Role: O&B initiated the partnership with a comprehensive systems review of the platform’s React-based frontend, backend, and AWS infrastructure. Following the audit, we deployed a “Foundation Squad” to set up the production environment and define business requirements, followed by a “Build Squad” to execute the roadmap.
